Jadestone Offers Backgammon
Last year Jadestone Networks, the Swedish online gaming solutions developer, launched its DiceArena multi player gaming network with dice games, Dice Hold’em and Shoot the Moon. At that time it had indicated that it would be adding backgammon to its range of products. Now Jadestone has announced that the launch of its backgammon network will take place later this spring with both heads up games and tournaments. Bwin, NordicBet and PAF, who are already on the DiceArena platform, will be the first to host the backgammon games. According to Tobias Nissen, Business Development Director for Jadestone, the backgammon network will integrate into the DiceArena platform in a “cost-efficient and robust way”. It will allow the players to keep their existing avatars and aliases and yet play the new games. The backgammon network will be available with support in 25 languages and will be fully compliant with the rules and procedures prevalent in DiceArena. The network also has the same full-featured operations and anti-fraud systems as the DiceArena games.
Further details of the backgammon offering are available from Jadestone’s web site. The overall playing environment blends well with the existing DiceArena platform. The user interface is both stylish and functional. There is an emphasis on social networking and community building. The backgammon cash games will be played for a predetermined stake per point. In order to prevent huge losses there will be a maximum level used to cap the stakes. As in poker, the casino will take a rake on the final bet amount in order to meet its costs and returns. Match play will be based on a fixed wager. Points won in each game will be accumulated and the player reaching the specified points target will win the wagered amount. Tournaments will be played on a pot pool basis. Jadestone will start the backgammon network with two types of tournaments. Sit and Go tournaments will run around the clock. Players will occupy their seats at the table and once the specified number of players has been reached the tournament will commence. The scheduled tournaments will start at announced times.
The backgammon network will have certain features to enhance the quality of the experience. There will be an internal rating system in which the players will get rated. This will enable players to opt playing with those who are similarly rated. The network will provide a game history. This history can be exported in a format that is suitable for analysis using prevalent commercial backgammon analysis tools. The network will also have an anti-bot analysis system in place in order to verify if a player is using a computer to make his moves. The system will automatically check for suspected bot usage by matching the play against known commercial bots.
